What is the difference between the Stated and the Stated Flair?
The base Stated shoe uses Nubuck, canvas and split suede — a lightweight, casual aesthetic at a lower price point. The Stated Flair uses a full leather upper with a hand-applied worn finish for a more premium, heritage racing look. Both share the same protection architecture (dual-density TPU ankle discs, TPF frame, reinforced shift zone) and CE EN13634:2017 Level 1 certification. The Flair is the choice for riders who prioritise leather quality and a distinctive retro aesthetic.
What does the TPF (Transversal Protection Frame) actually do?
The Transversal Protection Frame is a semi-rigid structural element integrated into the shoe's midsole. It reinforces the midfoot laterally — the zone that bears load against the footpeg during braking and gear changes — preventing excessive flex under impact while preserving the natural forward flex required for walking comfort. It is the element that makes the Stated Flair a genuine riding shoe rather than a fashion shoe with CE markings.
What CE certification level do the Stated Flair shoes carry?
The Stated Flair is certified to CE EN13634:2017 Level 1 — the European standard for protective motorcycle footwear. Level 1 is the appropriate certification for urban riding shoes, providing protection against ankle impact and abrasion in the conditions typical of city commuting and leisure riding.
Are the Stated Flair comfortable for all-day walking use off the bike?
Yes — the shoe is specifically designed for dual-purpose use. The OrthoLite® insole provides immediate cushioning from first wear with no break-in required. The vulcanized rubber urban sole is flexible enough for walking while maintaining footpeg grip. The lateral zip allows the shoe to be put on and taken off in seconds.
